Design

At the core of our design expertise is our Integrated Approach to Data Center design. The philosophy behind this approach is the recognition that data center site infrastructure functions like a chain – it’s only as strong as the weakest link. Today’s data center marketplace is highly diversified. Many products are targeted at particular facets of the data center environment (in particular, today, energy efficiency). However, the advantages that these products bring may come at the cost of other key aspects of that same environment. In order to establish a road map to steer through this complexity, we identify the following key areas of concern for data center site infra-structure:

  1. Situational Constraints
  2. System Reliability Objectives
  3. First and Operational Costs
  4. Scalability and Flexibility
  5. Overall Facility Performance
  6. Support and Maintainability

We do not represent any particular equipment, but rather position ourselves to assess all available solutions on the basis of their merits for each unique data center. We pride ourselves on maintaining a very high margin between dollars invested and returns.

Continuous Value Engineering

Our role as a design/build contractor equips us with a unique library of first-hand construction cost data. Our experience allows us to see diminishing points of return before we get there. In modern language, we continuously “Value Engineer” our projects toward a best-value solution. We are particular well-suited to assess the impact that individual design decisions have on the overall construction process.
